The proliferation of weapons is similar, in many respects, to what biologists call an evolutionary ‘arms race.’
There has to be a term for this sort of thing.

There has to be a term for this sort of thing.
Anatopism might be a term coming close to it, as you folded an analogy back on its original as if the original was the analogy.
